Nazma’s Note: The street food is fab here, and they’re also the only place I know that does a samosa burger – you read that right a SAMOSA, plus a chicken pattie, and all the rest in a burger bun! They also do shisha here outside the restaurant, and you can order selected food items to have in the shisha area.

Nazma’s Note: Manchester’s fancy new halal steak house. I had pretty high expectations for this place (although I must say I’m not a steak-geek). Overall, I thought it was nice, but it didn’t live up to my expectations. It’s pretty expensive compared to my usual food places, so I was hoping it would be a good “special occasion” place, the overall experience didn’t quite feel that special for me. I’d probably go again, when I’m feeling a bit flash or someone else is treating me!

Nazma’s Note: My go-to for comfort food! My actual favourite dishes here are the vegetarian street food options – channa batura, the bindi fries and the puri masala, but we sometimes order the chilli chicken as a starter and there’s plenty of other meat dishes available too.

Nazma’s Note: I’m a regular at the other Archie’s Diner on Oxford Road, but have only been to this one for take-out. My top burger choices are 1) The Texas Tornado – because it has a hashbrown on top and I love a bit of potato on my burger 2) The Superstar burger – smashed beef pattie, although the last time I had this I realised they’ve made it a double which was way too much for me.

Hidden down a really dodgy-looking street, this place is awesome. Rice and 3 curries, and let me tell you these curries taste like home-cooked asian food. And to an extent it’s served like that too – the vibe is super casual, think mismatched crockery and cutlery, you queue up like it’s a school dinner, pick your faves and take your seat. Even just writing this makes me want to go back!

Nazma’s Note: I’d describe this place as a wannabe Salt Bae! Your food is served with drama and panache. All in all good fun 🙂 I’d recommend you book a table as it gets super busy in here. They also have a small shisha area outside the restaurant – which according to my shisha-smoking friends is the best in the city centre!

Nazma’s Note: I came here towards the end of last year. I don’t know if they were having a bad day or something but it was awful! Slow slow service, and when our food did finally arrive it was just not up to scratch.
Thankfully I was in good company that evening, otherwise I definitely would not have been smiling!

Nazma’s Note: One of the few places where you can get halal break in the city centre this place is pretty big inside and good for groups. I always order the lamb kofta tagine and if I’m in the mood for something sweet, the lebanese spiced hot chocolate is yummy too.

Nazma’s Note: I’m really not a big fan of Zouk. I’ve always found the service there to be poor, like the staff couldn’t even care less that they have a customer waiting. The food can be really hit and miss too, I ordered a chicken steak once and it was so dry and badly presented. They also have a shisha area outside – if it wasn’t for my shisha-smoking friends, I probably wouldn’t choose to come here.
