Speaking at the opening of the South Asia Gallery – Manchester Museum

The South Asia Gallery at Manchester Museum opened to the public on 18 February 2023. As one of the thirty co-curators it was quite the big deal! I chosen to say a few words on behalf of the collective at a celebration event pre-opening, which you can watch below:

I’ll be sharing more about the co-curation journey I’ve been on over the last four years – making my personal story part of the “Past and Present” anthology, working with the Manchester Museum and British Museum teams, choosing the dazzling 1930’s Cartier Brooch with a Mughal-era Emerald and writing about how it feels now that the South Asia Gallery is open and the reactions and feelings that have come with this.
